2015 Here's to a New Year!

Here we go, folks. Let's begin our next cycle around the sun. And this time, let's make more music than ever before.

2015 is going to be a big year for yours truly and will be filled with newness. To get it started right, I've just launched my new project, Songs of Friends. This project is my way of thanking the musicians in my life who inspire and influence me by sharing their music with you. When you've finished reading, visit the Songs of Friends tab and you'll find videos of me and my fellow artists covering each other's songs. Each session is a song swap intended to cross-promote both artists, so please keep in mind that fanship isn't finite and musicians thrive on community, so please check out my Songs of Friends project, spread the word, and support my fellow musicians. If you or someone you know would like to participate in this project, please feel free to contact me with questions and/or suggestions.

2015 seems like a good year to release a new album, so that's what I'm gonna do. It has been nearly two years since the release of nothing is too little and I'm eager to share with you the fruits of my growth as a musician, a songwriter, and as a person. The completion of another cycle around the sun has got me thinking about all the places I've been and all the people I've met. Some adventures were good, some were bad, and some are hard to define. Some long-sought progress was achieved. Some mistakes were made. And with all of this in mind, I am creating a sophomore album that is as much for me as it is for you. Summer of 2015 will be the release of this album.

In 2015 I will do my part to add to the newness. I will make family and friends out of strangers I've just met. I will return home to places I've never been before. I will be a new River. Still weird, but a new weird; the kind that inspires some and worries others. I will sing about new subjects, I will publish my new short stories, and I will dance in new places with music or not. I will find new interests, new passions, and make new mistakes.

With all of this newness in mind, dear friends, I wish you the best and look forward to seeing you all soon.
